Following the rapid expansion, between the 19th and 20th centuries, of numerous factories that largely occupied the Douro slopes of the Campanhã Valley, we can speak of a story told through invisibility and ruins, making the invisible visible through discourse and direct observation. Such is the challenge posed by this route along Rua do Freixo, inviting the walker to internalize, reflect on, and interact with the industrial landscape. This landscape is still in the making today, in ruins, or already transformed into other realities characteristic of the urban expansion of a unique area of the city of Porto in the midst of a transformation process.
