Much like the ring surrounding the city center, in the Campanhã Valley, its villages and hamlets were incorporated into Porto during the 19th century. These settlements can still be seen today, connected by centuries-old paths that preserve the structural link between the settlements—once densely populated and now transformed or in the process of transformation. This route, navigating between the visible and the invisible, the material and the immaterial, through a journey through villages, crossing existing spaces and trails, or following the traces of their memories on the southwestern slope of the Douro hillside, between Quinta da China and the village of Noeda, is an invitation to walk and to perceive the continuities between the rural and the urban that are also part of the contemporary city, enveloping the walker, their body, and senses in the process of creating the path itself.
